Host this wiki

This wiki uses Astro and Starlight. The build produces a static dist/ folder with HTML, local assets and a Pagefind search index.

Guide content lives in src/content/docs/. The homepage uses the custom Hero and Home components under src/components/. public/ holds unchanged native artwork and hosting files. package-lock.json fixes the dependency tree for reproducible installs.

The host serves the contents of dist/. Source files and dependencies are not the upload root.

Create a Pages application connected to this repository and choose the branch to publish. Set:

Setting Value
Root directory wiki
Build command npm run build
Build output directory dist
Node.js 24 (also recorded in .node-version)

Review the generated *.pages.dev preview before adding the custom domain. See the official Cloudflare Pages Astro guide for the build workflow.

Build locally with npm ci and npm run build, then upload the contents of dist/ to a Direct Upload Pages project. Its index.html must be at the upload root.

A Direct Upload project cannot later switch to Git integration within the same project. See Cloudflare’s Direct Upload instructions.

In the Pages project, open Custom domains → Set up a domain and add simpleschematics.vigenere.wiki. Follow Cloudflare’s DNS prompt. Associate the domain in Pages before creating a manual CNAME; DNS alone does not complete Pages setup.

Astro’s configured canonical domain is https://simpleschematics.vigenere.wiki. See Cloudflare’s custom-domain guide.

To serve the same site at ss.vigenere.wiki, add it as another custom domain on the same Pages project and complete DNS setup. Canonical URLs still name the primary hostname.

For a redirect instead, use account-level Bulk Redirects: source ss.vigenere.wiki, destination https://simpleschematics.vigenere.wiki, status 301, with Preserve query string, Subpath matching and Preserve path suffix enabled. Enable the rule using that list. A redirect-only alias in a Cloudflare-managed zone uses a proxied A record named ss with address 192.0.2.1, as described in the official subdomain redirect guide.

Pages _redirects files do not support domain-level redirects. Verify the status and Location header after DNS activation.

From the repository’s wiki/ folder:

Terminal window
npm ci
npm run build
npm run check
npm run preview -- --port 8766

For live editing, use npm run dev -- --port 8766. Starlight’s production search index is generated by the build; use the built preview to review search.

Existing guide paths and anchors remain stable. In Markdown, write a durable section heading as ## Heading {#stable-id}. The heading plugin makes that ID available to both links and Starlight’s table of contents. The in-game Wiki button opens the primary hostname; Rules help opens /rules/#first-rule.

This project does not deploy itself or change DNS. Build and review the output before publishing.
